Silander was a evil mako shark that ruled the big blue before the course of the story. He is described as the first major threat to the peace of the ocean before the reign of Indi Shiver. He conquered nearly the entire ocean, but was eventually defeated by a small group of rebels with the assistance of orcas. His regime is what lead to the orca's mistrust of sharks in the main course of the story.
